From Gamers to Commuters: Tech Moves Changing Kuwait in August 2025
From gaming restrictions to safer roads — tech’s direct impact on Kuwaitis

I’m a Kuwait-based Computer Engineering student sharing weekly notes on crypto, tech, and practical coding. Expect clear explainers, mini projects, and market rundowns you can actually use. I learn in public so you can skip the trial-and-error.
Tech news isn’t always about shiny gadgets or billion-dollar startups. Sometimes it hits closer to home, changing how we live day-to-day in Kuwait. This month, two stories stood out big time: the sudden ban of Roblox and the AI smart cameras slashing traffic violations.
Roblox Blocked in Kuwait – Child Safety First
So, Roblox—one of the most popular games with kids here—got blocked by Kuwait’s regulators. The reason? Concerns about unsafe content and child protection. Parents had been complaining, and the authorities finally said “khala9, enough.” What I think aided this decision was that a few days before so Roblox was banned in Qatar which tbh, I expected to echo around the GCC.
For a lot of families, this 9ij is a big shift. Kids spend hours on Roblox, making friends and playing together. Now? Parents are scrambling for alternatives, and kids al7een fa9leen because their favorite game just vanished overnight.
But on the flip side, it’s a wake-up call about online safety. Whether you agree with the block or not, it shows Kuwait is taking digital protection more seriously.
AI Cameras Cutting Traffic Violations by 95%
If you drive in Kuwait, you’ve probably noticed the new smart cameras and mobile radars. Wallah, these things are everywhere. And the numbers are crazy—traffic violations dropped 95% since they launched.
No more laish ma 9awrit7ah, that guy skipped the red light or sped past the radar without a flash. The AI cameras catch it all, instantly, without human bias. There are, however, human reviewers, tho. For us commuters, this means safer roads, less chaos, and probably more fines if you’re not careful.
It also shows how Kuwait is moving fast with AI in real life—not just in fancy apps, but in the streets we drive every day.
The Bigger Picture
Put these two stories together and you see a trend: tech is slowly reshaping life in Kuwait. From the games il-yihal play at home to the way we drive on the road, innovation isn’t just something we read about—it’s literally around us.
And ya3ni, whether you love it or hate it, one thing 9ij is clear: technology in Kuwait is no longer background noise—it’s center stage.
👉 What do you think? Was blocking Roblox the right move, or too much? And are these AI cameras making you drive safer, or just stressing you out?
